Open your Host App. Click on the Menu Icon on the top left and select "Check In".


You can see there are three tabs: No Shows, Today, and Early.

The No Shows Tab shows you the bookings of the last few days where the guests did not arrive.

The Early Tab shows you the bookings/arrivals for the next few days.


On the Today tab, you can see who is arriving today. When the guest is standing at your reception, you can check them in with the Host App. Select the name of the guest you want to check in.


At first, a field pops up the terms and conditions of your business (you need to set that by yourself, under settings). Click accept.


Next, you have to take a photo of the guests passport or ID. 

Note: on the top right there is QR code icon. If the guest has the Kamooni Traveler App, you can click on the QR code icon and scan the guests QR code, which will then automatically fill in all the guest details in the check in form.)

To take a photo of the passport, click on the camera icon.

The Host App comes equipped with a passport scanner, so ideally when you take a photo of the passport the app should be able to "read" all the information and fill in the guest form automatically. If it can't read the passport, it will just save the photo and you have to fill in the information manually. Once you take the photo, a crop frame will appear so you can crop it to the right size. Then click "save".


Next, fill in the customer's name as written in the passport/ID. (Or give the phone/tablet to the customer, to fill in his/her details by himself.) Click "next".


Next, select the customer's nationality. Click on "next".


Next, fill in the passport number/ID number. Click on "next".


Fill in the customer's phone number. Click "next".


Fill in the customer's email address. Click "next".


Then you get to the room selection page. The room is already filled in (since the booking was already made for that room). Just click "next".


On the next page you have to fill in how the guests heard about our place. Click on “select” to get to the drop down menu.


From the list you select the correct answer. If you are not sure, select "other".


Then when you're done – when all 8 fields are filled in correctly – you click on “submit details”.

Please note: The "submit details" button only appears if all fields have been filled in. If you get to this stage and there is no "submit details" button, click on "back" and go find out which field you have left blank.


Wait until the message “details saved” appears at the bottom. Then you click on “Guest 2” at the top and start the whole process all over again.


When you have successfully entered and saved the details of all guests listed under this booking, a green button that says “confirm check-in” will appear at the bottom. Click on that, and then a message appears to say “check in completed”. Then the guests are correctly checked in, and will now be listed under “bookings”, and their tabs are now active.


Please Note: If you have a booking for a single guest, only "Guest 1" will appear at the top, and you only check in that one person. If you have a booking for a dorm for, say, 8 people, then you have to check in all 8 people together, in order to complete the check-in. You can't check in 7 people if the last person is not around yet.

Please Note: If from a group of people you take down only one person's details and click on "submit details" at the end, then those details will stay saved on the system, whether you complete the check in on the app or not. So the guest details will appear on the booking form, BUT the booking is not yet checked in, until you took down the details of all guests and completed the check-in process.
