After you have created your Rooms under Products (refer to THIS MANUAL on how to create a room), you have to set your room rates and rate periods. To do this, go to "Rooms" and then "Rooms & Rack Rates".

Click on "Create" in the top left corner to create a new room rate.

(Under "product" you have already set a price for your room. However in this function here you can create more flexible rates, different rates for different time periods, or adjust rates according to the number of people booked into the room.)

Please Note: In order for your room to appear on the booking sheet/calendar and in order for it to be bookable, you need to set a rate period, preferably for at least the next 12 months. If your room does not have a current rate period, it is not bookable on any of your exterior channels (like booking.com, or kamooni direct website bookings etc.)

This is the blank form you get when setting up a new room rate. In this example we are setting up a double room, and name of the room is Hobbit House.

The Info you need to fill in is the following:

Name: Hobbit House

Type: Double/Twin (select relevant type from the drop-down menu)

Occupancy: (set the maximal amount of people that can sleep in this room)

Gender: mixed (select from the drop down menu: males, females, or mixed)

No. of Rooms: 1 (set the actual number of this kind of rooms that you have)

Is Camping: (leave un-ticked)

OTA Info

Add % to OTA price: You can leave it at zero, or you can add a percentage if you want to sell your room for a higher price on OTA (Online Travel Agent).

Sell Online on Kamooni: Tick this box to have your room active and bookable on the Kamooni portal/website/app for direct bookings

# 1 Night Free Campaign: Tick this box if you want to include this room in the Kamooni # 1 Night Free Campaign (this campaign is an incentive for people to book through the Kamooni Traveller App: if the guests books directly through the Traveller App, they get the third night free).

This is it for the basic room info. At the bottom above the line you can see more tabs. Click on "Room Rates", and then click on "Add an Item".

Set the Start Date and End Date for your rate period. Usually there are low season rates and high season rates. So you can set your rate period according to that, for example: 15.03. - 15.06. - R380, 16.06. - 06.08. - R480, 07.08. - 15.12. - R380, etc. If your rate stays the same throughout the year, you can set a full year rate period with one fixed price. In this example, we will set a standard low season rate, and then an extra high season rate for the time from Dec 15 to Jan 15.

Start Date: 16.01.20xx

End Date: 14.12.20xx

Min Stay: 1 (Minimum Stay has to be at least one night, but you can set it to however many nights you wish)

Max Stay: 0 (Zero just means unlimited; if you want to limit the amount of days one can book this room, adjust the number here)

Room Rate: R480 (set the maxim room rate here)

Under "Derived Rates", you can change the room price according to how many people are booked in. For example, your double room is R480, but if a single person books the room you sell it for R380. If you wish to do that, you can click on "Add an Item". Then enter the number of people - 1 - and the room rate for one person - R380. Then click again "Add an Item" and enter the number of people - 2 - and the room rate for two people - R480.

When you have everything filled in for this rate period, click on "Save&New" (remember, we still want to add the High Season rates).

The same blank window as above will pop up again. Fill in the correct dates and rate for the next rate period. When you're done, click on "Save&Close".

Your newly set rate periods now appear on your Room Info.

We would recommend that you also click on "Property Pictures" and upload at least one or two photos of your room.

And under "Block Room From External Channels" you can set a time period when you want this room to NOT appear on your external booking channels. For example, if your property is on booking.com, but for December you want to screen the guest bookings and you don't want to receive automatic bookings, you can set a time period here to block this room on booking.com and all other external channels that your business is linked to (including the Kamooni direct website bookings).

Please note: You have to set your room periods to include at least the next year (365 days from now). If you don't you will get a warning like this:

Your room is only bookable on external channels for the time period that you have set your rates.

Now that your room info and rate periods are set up, you can go back to your product (room) and make sure it is linked to the room type you have just set up.

Go to "Products" and in the Search Bar type in the name of your room. Then click on your product (room) to edit the product info.

Once your room is correctly linked to your rate plan, it will show up on your room info under "Active Rooms":
